How do I keep Buda research limited to a specific set of official websites?

Hovhannes Vktarget

I'd like Buda to compare product features using only the official websites and documentation I provide, leaving out reposted articles for now.

If those sources don't answer a question, I'd want it marked 'no documentation found' rather than filled in from another website just to complete the answer.

Would you put that restriction in the task brief or in a dedicated research Skill? How would you check that the source boundaries were followed?

Hard-limit the sources with an allowlist, and require “no documentation found” instead of widening the web to finish an answer. One-off briefs can carry the list; recurring research belongs in a dedicated Skill.

(Diagram: allowlist → read only those → cite or mark not found.)

(Local demo: agent chat session)

Suggested steps

  1. List allowed domains / doc entry points and ban reposts, wikis, and second-hand forum summaries.
  2. Write acceptance rules in the brief or Skill
  • Every claim cites a real URL opened;
  • Off-allowlist URL → discard that claim;
  • Missing in-list → output “no documentation found,” no expansion.
  1. Attach a source list with the deliverable so you can audit quickly.
  2. Use a Skill when you repeat the comparison — maintain the allowlist in one place.

How to confirm

  • Spot-check: every cited URL is on the allowlist.
  • Ask something the allowlist cannot answer → you should see “no documentation found,” not an outside site.
  • Source list matches in-body citations.

Boundaries

  • Be specific (domains/paths), not “relevant official sites.”
  • Agents can still wander — enforce with cited URLs + your spot-check.
  • Third-party reviews need a separate, explicitly approved source list.
